nutrition around the world. After years of intense research, science has uncovered that
nature provides a wide variety of options when it comes to dealing with high cholesterol,
and a large portion of it comes from plant fats and oils. The best part of this is that

will be listing a few great juice and smoothie recipes to lower your cholesterol.
Tangy Tropical Smoothie
This recipe is sure to get you feeling excited about smoothies, and it will give you a
healthy dose of antioxidants as well. Take 5 ounces of unsweetened almond milk and
blend it with one-half of a pear. Then blend in a cup of chopped pineapple, ¼ of an
avocado, 3 cups of spinach, and a ¼ of fresh ginger. This smoothie is also full of great
antibacterial agents to keep the microorganisms in your gut properly balanced and
working hard to keep your body functioning.
Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie
For this smoothie, you’ll only need 8 ounces of almond milk, one peeled banana, 10
decently sized strawberries, ¼ of a lemon that is peeled and seedless, 2 kale leaves
without the stems, and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds that have been soaked for 5 – 10
minutes. After it’s done, you’ll have a super refreshing smoothie that will give you an
energy boost with some great intestine-cleaning action!
Apple Avocado Smoothie
Avocados are amazing because they contain the kind of plant fats that have a major
effect on LDL cholesterol. All you need for this simple smoothie is 8 ounces of
unsweetened almond milk, one apple with the core removed, ¼ or ½ of an avocado
peeled with the seed removed, and 2 cups of spinach. This smoothie is full of a wide
range of great nutrients to help you have an energetic day.
Apple Green Smoothie
If you’re not super big on almond milk then this recipe might be a great option for you.
It also has cucumber which can help remove excess water from the body. Take 4
ounces of water, and blend in 1 ripe, peeled banana, 1 large apple that has the core
removed, ½ cucumber (with the peel still on), ¼ of a peeled avocado with the seed
removed, and 2 cups of baby spinach.
I was a faithful juice-maker for many years after our 4 children were on their merry ways. My hubby would not join my juicing journey so the trip to the market or health food store was all on me. You use a lot of veggies but you consume a lot of veggies!
I did not juice fruits as a drink. I put a cored apple into my veggie mixes to sweeten things up a bit…thus, the featured APPLE GREEN SMOOTHIE is here. I believe that eating fresh fruit, rather than juicing fruit, is eating less sugar and retaining the bulk with the natural fiber found in chewing the fruit of choice rather than juicing the fruit. I stopped juicing when I spent a year and a half in Florida with my then-95-year-old mom. I did, however, run 6 miles every morning, passing well over 2 million steps for that year. THAT lowered my cholesterol without drugs.
